The experience of creativity is rewarding!

Just search the internet and you'll find list after list of the benefits creativity brings to your life. These are a few of my favorites...

FREEDOM - There is no right or wrong way to be an artist. When we create, we are given the opportunity to engage with the world without judging ourselves. We have permission to take risks, try new things, and strip away inhibitions in a healthy way.
STRESS RELIEF - Making art is meditative. Taking the time to use our hands, minds, and energy doing something we love is of utmost importance in life. Being creative makes us happy. Creativity is really another form of play, and play is universally important to each individual’s sense of joy and well-being. Art is FUN, and doing anything that brings joy reduces our stress levels and improves our quality of life. What could be more important than that?
SELF AWARENESS & EXPRESSION - Creativity is the route to authenticity. As we create, we plumb the depths of our being, accessing what we think and believe. The more we create, the more we discover  and realize our habits, impulses, and desires. When we take the time and energy to develop our own ideas, we respect our inner nature and are better able to express ourselves to the world on a regular basis.  Creativity allows self-discovery, as well as the opportunity to share a hidden side of ourselves.
CONNECT WITH YOUR COMMUNITY - When we create, we connect to other people doing the same and an instant sense of community is formed. Whether we're exchanging ideas, providing feedback for our peers, or simply creating next to in silence, the sense of connection experienced as artists is undeniable and deeply rewarding. A creative focus can help you find your community and feel less alone in the world.
I offer workshops, one-on-one and group instruction in a variety of topics. Most instruction is geared for teens and adults but it can be modified for younger children too. I instruct from my home studio and/or on location. I have on-the-job experience with special needs children and have done art projects with special needs groups and individuals through Noble of Indiana, Outside The Box and Best Buddies of Indiana. I also present workshops and demonstrations for art clubs, libraries, schools and other groups. Dates, times and cost for instruction vary according to content and group size. Additional fee may be required for locations other than my studio. Feel free to contact me for more information or with specific requests.

I am still working on the way the class selections are processed, once one person books a class I will need to go in and edit the offering so that others can join. Thanks for your patience as I navigate this new site!
